Advantages: good graphics, scary!

Disadvantages: none!

Another smash in the Resident evil series, and quite possibly the most intelligent and playable action/horror game of all time as of yet. With some amazingly mind tackling puzzles and an arsenal of guns to take freakish monsters down, who wouldn’t like it? With cut scenes that will keep you thoroughly amused you should definitely take a great interest in this game.

We have seen many attempts of survival horror games like evil dead for example. They get the lighting; camera and depth of the game seem to fall apart. But this particular series seems to get everything right and make it one of the most popular series in the world apart from maybe final fantasy. Capcom are showing there more than capable abilities and proving a lot of people wrong by going from street fighter to resident evil. Ok so it may not be a sega title but we got it first!

The basic plot of the game is quite typical and may not have been concentrated on that well, but like before it does not take anything away from the game. In this game Claire Redfield (seen from Resi evil 2) is out to find her brother Chris Redfield (also seen in the previous game). She knows he has gone missing and goes on the search for him. Upon this island where some Umbrella (the mysterious, evil company) operations were being taken place at this time. But she gets captured and has to go down into a cell where she is doomed to stay. But then a man who works there let her go when everyone is gone. Her mission is now to stay alive and rescue her brother. So basically it is Resident evil 2 carried on.

You now take the control of Claire where you wonder around dark badly lit places with scary flickering lights.. Somehow the game thrives with depth that is vitally important but is not considered such a major part of other games.

Saving ammo- to do well in the game you must save soo much ammo for all guns. You might think it is hard to get past all the zombies but at the start you should p
robably run past them to do well in the long run. I guarantee that anyone will have to start the game again at least twice just to pick up the gist of saving ammo. Hard, but necessary.

Save items- decide what to take.

Solving puzzles- this is a massive part of the game. I think one of the reasons that Capcom gave it a high rating was that it is one of the hardest games around at present. You go around with items that you have to hold onto to see if it unlocks certain places. You will get stressed out with this sometimes and to some people it might just prove all too tough. The weak will give up on this game pretty quickly but you will feel a sensation of achievement at the end.

Gameplay
Some people might be a little disappointed when they see it is more of a platform world. This proved most important to the success of the game so don’t fret. You might be annoyed when you see it is not a 3d world but I didn’t expect it. The characters you control are brilliant to play with and very smooth when running through places. IT is quite slow when turning if you are shooting but you will soon get to grips with it.

Graphics
Perhaps the most stunning graphics on the Dreamcast? Maybe not, but it comes quite close. Instead of lightly patterned and coloured worlds this game gives some dark corridors. But this makes it all the more impressive. The dimly lit passages are very detailed and glitch free. You will carefully examine each tile whether it be covered in shadows or smeared in some form of bloodstain everyone is as impressive as the next. Everything looks great and the zombies are well designed too!

Sound
Capcom certainly haven’t let us down with some great sound that makes it scary, very scary. As you pass through a graveyard and hear the low pitch moan of a zombie you nearly jitter with nerves and in my opinion it rules! There are some very realistic sounds like glass smashing or things being dest
royed.

Overall this is the best horror around! I give it 95%
