Advantages: graphics, gameplay

Disadvantages: quite difficult

This was a hit on the PS2 and will hopefully be as much of a hit on the Dreamcast.
For those of you who get scared from horror movies and games should skip this review.
After four episodes Resident Evil has not lost its appeal or scaring power. Cinematic camera angles and cut scenes provide the gamer with a powerful film like effect.

As with many horror movies you will see the occasional dead body, tapping on the windows and blood, but this won?t lessen the impact when the action does begin. You can play with one of three characters, Chris, Claire or Steve. Any of who seem unable to run and fire at the same time, this is the only minor squabble.

The game starts after the destruction of raccoon city. Where you have to find your way around shooting at Zombies with either your shotgun, crossbow, AK-47 or the grenade launcher.
The gameplay is rather good but pity about the clumsy controls that we?ve seen in earlier versions of Resident.

The graphics are superb, especially the background buildings and scenery. The spooky effect is tripled with the great sound effects and music. Playing with the sound muted is for those who easily wet their pants.
This game can get boring particularly if you?ve played and finished Onimusha.
I?d give Res. Evil code veronica 7/10.
