The players move realistically around the court, different size match-ups really do affect the way the game plays, the sounds coming from the crowd and PA are brilliantly realistic and you can choose from a variety of camera angles. You are given detailed, accurate stats at the bottom of the screen during the game, you can call your own plays, timeouts and substitutions - the list is endless. Sega Sports NBA 2k (DC): Basketball as you've never seen it before (1347 words)

Out of the four major American Sports (American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey) it is basketball which has established itself as the most popular import to the UK, with its relatively simple rules and the lack of equipment needed in order to play. Although I myself cannot claim to be a fan, I must admit that I have been eagerly awaiting this title ever since I first caught a glimpse of it in motion late last year. The reason? The astonishing graphics and attention to detail. Now NBA 2K is finished and ready to hit the UK, but will the gameplay match up to its breathtaking looks? As I am sure you are aware, there have been countless amounts of ...  Read the complete review

SLAM DUNK this into your Dreamcast NOW! (346 words)

This game is easily the best sports title available on the Dreamcast at the moment. Although i would prefer a football game of this quality (come on Konami release ISS for Dreamcast!!!)for now NBA 2K is more than adequate to fill the void for now. So NBA 2K has been developed by Sega Sports and features the latest player roster which is a must if any sports game is to be successful nowadays. So this is a good start. Things just get better from here on in though......... The graphics of the game is what sets it apart from other basketball sims. Never before have i been able to recognize actual players from just looking at their faces. This stunning ...  Read the complete review

Sega Sports NBA 2k (DC): The dreamcast's best sports sim, bar none. (461 words)

The lack of great football games is continual gripe amongst dreamcast owners and for the near future we must be content with other sports. This is probably the best of the currently released sports sims and a simulation it definately is. This is not a game to buy for a quick slice of action packed gameplay but, given time, this game will suck you into the most realistic sports environment yet created on a home console. All the teams from the NBA are present with their real life players all accurately modelled, you can actually recognise them (although only in the replays where the camera zooms in and which, by the way, are fully controllable is speed of replay and exact  Read the complete review

Slam it on in! (265 words)

NBA 2K was the best Sega Sports title out on Dreamcast in Europe until the mighty Virtua Tennis was released. The graphics are amazing: each player looks as though they are REAL and the movement and speed is just brilliant. NBA 2K is the best Basketball title in the world at the moment, really is a great game to play. The controls are easy enough to learn, and there are many different game modes to play, including Play offs, quick start, exhibition and Season. the only problem with the game is that it takes up 199 bits on your memory card (nearly all of it) so, unless you're prepared to spend £20 on one I suggest you leave the season until you ...  Read the complete review

Sega Sports NBA 2k (DC): Ultra realism!! (165 words)

Now this game is just pure fun. I am not the biggest basketball fan in the world, but I was comepletely impressed. Sega is doing a great job with its sport titles so far. Dunking, pretty passes, Alley-ooops, juking...all here. the controls are easy to pick up and less complicated than you would think. The players look real and the court (complete with intros) pump you up for the game.NBA2K plays similar to NFL2K with easy menus and total player control. the graphics flow and dont get much better. The best way to play of course is with a friend. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing the replay of a fancy dunk in your buddies face. The season mode is also fun for ...  Read the complete review
