Advantages: amazin graphics

Disadvantages: maybe too fast at times

On March 11th, 2000, I received an early birthday present. What was it? A SEGA Dreamcast, with Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver, and Sonic Adventure, I hadn't really played Sonic before, or any of the other games at that, but I thought I'd leave sonic until last, since I've never really liked platform games.

The only platform game that ever really caught my eye was Crash Bandicoot, because it felt original. I was originally having second thoughts about keeping Sonic... But i thought I'd give it a try at least.
I unwrapped it, opened the case, took out the CD/GD, and popped it into my new Dreamcast. I was stunned. The graphics were superb, and the gameplay had me hooked until the very end. It was easy to finish, but I still haven't completed it. I got past the SuperSonic adventure, which had me hooked, as SEGA saved the best level for last. I beat the level, and thought I had completed the game... But then, I found out about the 'Medals'.... Over 150 of them. And I STILL haven't gotten them all.

This game really is good, it's easy for young children, (Well... mostly) and it plays like a dream. Some parts being tremendously hard, and some being easy, but perfectly balanced. It had me hooked. I'd play it every day, until I beat it.

Playing as all the characters gave it an inventive and original twist, and I couldn't believe that there was a platform game I actually liked. I can't wait for Sonic Adventure 2, and I'm definitely getting that one on the day of release.

SEGA... Keep putting out games like this, and you'll probably make history. As for winning the console wars... Well, that'll never end.

I love this game, and it'll be my favorite game until Sonic Adventure 2 is released.
