Advantages: Great to look at!

Disadvantages: Needs a crowd of people to get the best from it..

Personally I think that a good fighting game has to meet three demands. It must be good to look at graphically, it must be fast paced, and most importantly the controls must have that "natural" feel.

Soul Calibur fulfills all these challenges, and then some! The graphics are not only fuctional, but are beautiful to look at! There is a demonstration sequence that takes place when the game is left idle that is simply stunning.

In terms of gameplay, the controls are fairly easy to pick up, and soon moves become instinctive with practice. The action is fast and frantic enough to test your reflexes though...

The single player game is intersting enough to keep you coming back for a while, and there are several play modes to spice things up, but beating up your mates is the only real way to play!

Fighting games such as this have always been good with a crowd of people crowded round the tv, and this is no exception. Plus, this is a great way of getting rid of unhealthy stress!

The downside is that you will probably break a few controllers if you play a lot.
