Advantages: The Game

Disadvantages: None

This is with out a doubt the most enjoyable fighting game on the planet is also the number one reason to buy a Dreamcast.

Have you ever dreamed of a perfect fighting game? Have you ever wanted liquid-smooth graphics and amazing sound? well your dream has come true. Namco really proved that Sega isn't the only company that could make a great fighting game by releasing its own "Tekken-Killer," Soul Calibur. Soul Calibur is a near perfect fighting game. A lot of people consider Soul Calibur the best fighting game to date. First of all this game features lightning fast graphics at 60 frames per second, awesome sound effects, and the fact that each character has their own weapon is pretty cool too. This game doesn't have a very good story line, but no game is perfect. Soul Calibur has many different game modes such as: arcade mode, VS. battle mode, team battle mode, survival mode, mission battle mode, museum mode, practice mode, and options. The point of this game is to beat all the characters (like tekken). When you beat the arcade mode and some other modes you get more and more characters who each have their own unique weapon. My favorite character happens to be Kilik who's weapon of choice is the mighty rod. Each character has their own different combo moves as well. If you haven't already played this game, at least go out and rent it, your bound to realize it is the best fighting game ever. They named Soul Calibur the Supertest Winner after putting it through a series of tests against other fighting games.

Soul Calibur is one of only a few games to get that prestigious 10/10 award, simply because it is faultless. There is nothing at all that I can complain about with Soul Calibur I guess a lot of you all thought this too (it’s a top 5 selling Dreamcast game). So what is so great about this Namco fighting game? Let me explain! Hope you’ve got the coffee ready! Back in 1999, around 6months before the release of Dr
eamcast I was browsing the web looking for information on Sega’s new wonder console, and I was naturally curious as to what games would be making an appearance on the format, so when I found some screen shots of a game called Soul Calibur I was absolutely stunned! They looked incredible! The background detail and smoothness was sublime, and the actual colour and graphical stance frozen in one single shot!

This game is just simply top class and it definitely derves all 5 stars! Thanks for reading!
