I bought this game about six months ago. I was looking for a racing game, and a salesperson at Electronics Boutique steered me towards Speed Devils. She certainly steered me in the right direction. It is more of an arcade style racer, which I prefer slightly anyway. There are obstacles in the game which you must avoid throughout most of the races. The thing is, the obstacles are pretty cool. One of the tracks has you racing through Hollywood, complete with a T. Rex and King Kong, as well as a giant shark that bites into o bridge that you have to cross. Other tracks you must race on include Mexico, Canada (both winter and autumn conditions), Aspen (both summer and winter ... Read the complete review

This game has been unfairly overlooked by the magazines and the public.Good graphics and sound combined with addictive gameplay makes for a good game.Race in a championship or challenge a computer player one to one in a number of varied vehicles. The tracks are well thought out and contain a few surprises.Ok this is not the best driving game on the Dreamcast and I would not advise you to pay £40 for it, but if you see a second hand copy take a look. ... Speed Devils has a lot of aspects that make it seem like a sillier, cartoony sort of racer, but it still keeps up in the gameplay area, with impressive terrain simulations and superb environmental mods such as weather. The gameplay is obviously not as good as Gran Turismo, but it's just as fun. One aggravating aspect of the game is the fact that cars have 3 documented statistics, Acceleration, Speed, and Braking. While handling seems to scale somewhat with braking, i find it a mystery. The place where Speed Devils really shines is the simulation of weather affects, such as rain and varying degrees of snowy roads. The addition of night driving was ... Read the complete review

Speed Devils on Dreamcast is a fairly good game. Although the graphics do not stand out as being anything special, the sheer speed and fluidity of the game will keep almost everyone happy. By earning money and progressing through the championships, you are granted access to new tracks and the facility to but new improved cars. Speed Devils is not just about coming first, you gain money by achieving fastest laps and by taking bets on other computer controlled players. There is enough gameplay is Speed Devils to keep even the most hardened of games players coming back for more. A truly successful game that makes a welcome change from the cut and dry racing formula of rival ... Read the complete review

Speed devils is an average racing game on the dc in which you do the usual racing thing, race around in cars trying to win the race. In a sort of Gran Turismo style every time you race you earn money, you then use the money to buy a better car which will let you earn even more money etc. You earn money in various wars such as winning, being in the lead for the longest, fastest lap and breaking the speed dials. Basically speed devils is just 1 of a dozen average games out there. ... Read the complete review
