... very easy. (once you get the hang of it). As the game progresses you get more moves and challenges along with charaters, boards and tracks. Practice on your board or goto the hoverboard master in the middle of one of the stadiums to recieve a training challenge which if completed sucessfully will get you a new move. Very good graphics and if you go really close to a wall the graphics aren't just large squares (pixels) that you so often see in games. The game is suitable for all ages (3+) and is the best game aro...more

Premium Review Trick Style (DC): Imagine wipeout on surfboards... (updated) (141 words)
by - written on 19/10/00 (Very useful, 24 readings)
Rating:

If you want to picture Trickstyle (without looking at the picture!), then imagine wipeout on surfboards. That's a fair way to describe this game. It's not a magic game, not one that will live in the memory, but it deserves more then to be described as a shelf-filler. This game won't be everyone's cup of team but I quite like it. It has a two-player mode which is probably it's strongest point, and a fair variety of tracks. If you like the futuristic-style game, with a hint of originality then I would advise you to get this, especially considering you can purchase it for around £20 now. The soundtracks in the background are also very ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Oh dear, what can the matter be..... (171 words)

Oh dear, what happened here.True, release date games aren't always some of the best but we deserve better than this.I,myself succumbed to the pretty colours and promises of "better than wipeout".It's not that it's a bad idea.Who hasn't dreamed of being Marty McFly in Back to the Future Two to try there hand at hoverboarding.Put your hand down at the back!Anyway....it's a promising idea,so what went wrong.First, there is a high lack of speed(not the drug). It's feels like your moving in a very long traffic jam which you've managed to find the back of.Secondly,if you can't get used to the controls in the first place, you're a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Trick Style (DC): Superb Dreamcast game! (133 words)
by - written on 16/10/00 (Useful, 59 readings)
Rating:

The 'coolest' Dreamcast game ever? Well I think it is definitely in contention - as this game is SO smooth - and slick. the Visuals are absolutely amazing - even though this was one of the first DC titles! I have to say that the gameplay is also up there with the greatest games - as this hoverboard fest is a mix between tony hawk's skateboarding and well a snowboarding game! The controls are dead simple to use, and the game boasts loads of options and characters as well as great VM games - also the music is pure class. A worthy purchase. It is soon to be released on Playstation 2 I believe so it'll be interesting to see which game is the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I Love This Game (145 words)
by - written on 19/09/00 (Useful, 11 readings)
Rating:

I think Trickstyle is great! Loads of levels which keep you challenged and loads of countries to go to to complete them. Inter character relationships bring a little amusement to your game as they shout comments to each other during the races. I love the challenges that your trainer sets you. I admit that it took me a while to get used to this game and the controls but once you do, you'll find yourself learning nifty new tricks everytime you play. Also, it's great to play 2/3/4 player on coz you don't have to work through the stages and there are plenty of options to do what you choose. If you have the little memory pack that goes ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Trick Style (DC): Did it ever have style? (122 words)
by - written on 30/07/00 (Useful, 6 readings)
Rating:

I expected big things for this game, and the reviews on the television and magazines looked really cool. Sure it has good graphics and everything, but when it comes down to speed, you can't get much slower than this. It's feels like your crawling along at the back of a massive traffic jam. Not to mention the appalling controls, that if you don't get the hang of straight away, the game is a complete waste of time. The game gets awfully boring after a while as well, with the few tracks that there is, being similar. This has got to be one of the worst games I have played on any console. In my opinion, get Crazy Taxi instead. ...  Read the complete review
