If you’re a lover of driving games then you’ll no doubt have your personal favourites. Want to know mine? Of course you do! In no particular order: Toca 2 (PC) Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast) Colin McRae Rally (PC) Le Mans 24 Hr (Dreamcast) Gran Turismo (Psone) You may or may not agree with some (or even any!) of the titles above but one thing should be very obvious. All of them are aimed to be more of a simulation than an arcade experience. I’ll freely admit that this simulation business is just too serious for some people, but in my ... Read the complete review

I havent had my dreamcast for that long, so when i bought it, i was looking for a game to show off the dreamcasts capabilities. I wasn't disappointed. When i say that, i mean i wasn't disappointed by the game, whether it was technically amazing is another issue. Having never owned a serious racer before, i thought i'd give this one a try as i had heard of the V-Rally series before, and it was supposed to be good. Of course, i wasn't disappointed. This game has hit it on the button. There are what seems to be a plethora of options after you've put the disc in and skipped the opening video (evreyone does it!!), and when you actually ... This game is a real disapointment, after the diabolical Sega Rally I was looking forward to this conversion of the playstation hit. While the graphics are good and fast (sometimes too fast) the gameplay is awful. The tracks are so narrow that it is impossible not to keep hitting the sides sending your car into the air ending up on your roof. You would think that crashing four or five times would not help you win a rally, but crashing has no effect your car is placed back on the track and your away in less than a second. This game should have been play tested a lot more. I recommend to all Dreamcast owners wanting a rally game, dont buy V Rally 2 wait for Colin Mcrae 2 ... Read the complete review

The second rally game unleashed onto Sega's console, "V-Rally 2" is a thankfully more realistic endeavour into motorsport than the first, "Sega Rally 2". Gone are the floaty cars and frame rate issues which dogged "SR 2", "V-Rally 2" is an altogether more solid affair. Initial concerns over a lazy PC port are unfounded as Infogrames have done a fine conversion of last years PlayStation/PC hit. The large selection of tracks are complemented with nice crisp graphics and a pounding frame rate. This game is not for the faint hearted. V-Rally has always encouraged a definite 'foot-down' style of driving, rolling the car ... Read the complete review

This game has come striaght from the Playstation and it's brilliant! The graphics are superb and the gameplay is fast and frantic. There are also many courses including a course editior so you can dream up the perfect run. All i would say is that the handling of the cars isn't too hot. They feel like they're almost weightless and haven't got any feeling. In other game you'll find that the cars all handle differently. Here, it's basically the same allround. ...
