... trying to get to the end before you. It's a bit strange to find that your track position has nothing to do with you winning the race or not. When you get 1st place for the 52nd time, only to find you've failed, is a bit disheartening to say the least! Racing games are becoming two-a-penny these days. There are arcade racing games, simulations, comic racing and kart racing games, just to name a few. Vanishing point falls between the arcade and sim catagories of game. It has more options than you could shake a stick at and the graphics are pretty fantastic, given the speed they run at. So what does it play like? When you first start the game, you are given a choice of two cars and one track. Very little, you might say, but this game encourages you to unlock far more than just extra tracks, there are bonus options for tuning your car, hidden extras and mirror/reverse circuit options too.
