Advantages: Great fun
Disadvantages: graphics aren't amazing
Virtua Fighter 3TB is not the most amazing game out there, but for me, as a fan of the original two games, I still think this is a brilliant game, despite being less well liked as Dead Or Alive 2 or Soul Calibur, it’s one of the most complete and rewarding fighting games around.
Look past it’s apparent slowness to discover a masterful game – you’ll have to learn the moves rather than just button bashing in games like SC and DoA2, Virtua Fighter 3tb features heavily on the team battle mode, is very similar to Virtua Fighter 2, just with better graphics, new mode and a couple more fighters – I really like it personally.
The best fighters are Jacky, Akira, Lion – but each to their own choice, the moves take time to learn, but you’ll pick up basic punches, kicks and throws relatively simply. VF3 has some brilliant levels to fight in, with Kage’s being the best in my view.
The game is for 1 or two players – there’s a training mode, where you learn your moves against some strange looking fighters, and basically, it’s really good!
Virtua Fighter 4 is coming out on the PlayStation 2 and looks like it’ll be better than Tekken 4 and rivalling Namco’s other fighter – Soul Calibur, out on GameCube, and PlayStation 2 perhaps. I can’t wait, it’ll be a truly brilliant game!!
Plus points of VF3:
Great gameplay – intuitive moves and combos!
Graphics are far better than VF2 on the Saturn.
Price – the game is very good value where found.
Downsides:
Graphics look dated now,
Maybe too slow for some,
VF4 will look and play a lot better than it.
Overall, my opinion, I like it – 4 stars.

- 15/09/01 oooh, and b) because you're posting them so close to each other (time-wise)- the majority of your reads come from the 'new opinions' cross section drop down menu, and if they appear close together on that, they won't get as many reads as if they were spaced out (i.e posted, say , a couple of hours apart so other members could post inbetween...that'll get you more reads instantly) |

- 15/09/01 It's because a)not many people are rating them, and because you only get the miles for writing them once a Dooyoo category manager has read it. Writing lots of ops is by FAR the slowest way of making miles, the best way is reading and rating, and writing less often but longer and more in-depth ops. Have a look at the tips section and you'll see what I mean - and you'll also then be able to get in the running for crowns (=1000 miles right away, plus many more reads) |
