Advantages: Great Fun, Looks Great, Play Great

Disadvantages: No Women

Firstly if you have a Dreamcast you must own this game, whatever the cost. And when it is possible to pick this game up from Dixon’s for £13, you must have this game.

Tennis is a sport that you either love or hate and it only really gets any coverage when Wimbledon is on. That said even if you don't like tennis then you would love this game.

The basic structure of the game is that you choose your player from one of eight real and perfectly modelled players, each with there own strengths, for example one might have a great server, while another will have a good backhand.

You can play in a number of different options Arcade; you are put up against randomly selected opponents and take them on, on different surfaces.

Exhibition is where you can have a one off, singles or doubles match against a computer or a real opponent.

And the last option is where you have a career and go a round the world competing in different events and training matches to become the world number one. The training matches vary from knocking over skittles, to hitting the bull’s eye. They increase in difficulty but they are all possible to complete.

The actual matches are brilliant, as they always say simple is better, which is true, as all you are actually doing is trying to get a tennis ball past another player. But it is so addictive it is unbelievable.

The only slight downsides is when you get convinced that the computer is cheating, for example when you are facing the mighty Jim Courier who is thorn in your side on more than one occasion he seems impossible to beat, but just stick in there and you will do it. It is also good as you have goals to achieve, which means more money and will result in the gaining of extra stages, players and tennis wear.

Also another problem is that there are no women players, where is Anna Kornikova and Martina Hingis. But these are only slight concerns and would be more of a d
istraction, as you would be staring at them instead of the ball.

It is so fun and realistic you will be looking for the Strawberry’s and Cream.

Where's the point in a tennis game without Anna Kournikova? ;-)
