Hmmm... Wacky Races is actually a very good game, I would say it’s most definitely aimed at the younger generation of Dreamcast racing game players, but adults and all generations will have a good couple of hours play out of this from time to time. Staring Dick Darstedly and Mutley – you know, from the cartoons, as well as many other superb and hilarious characters. It’s very much a non serious racing game, you can’t take it too seriously, it’s just a really fun and entertaining racer that will appeal to children and so for the asking price of just £10 - £20, where available (Dreamcast games are getting hard to find nowadays), it’s well worth the money. Stylishly done, with a unique 2D as 3D presentation, it has to be seen to be appreciated – the Dreamcast version is far better than the PlayStation version, graphically at least – so get the DC version if you don’t have either console (that’ll mean you need a Dreamcast too). The music is fun too! Plus points: Tracks are simple and well designed. It’s a cartoon come to life in a game. Power ups – a Mario Kart clone? Not quite, this game puts a new spin on things. Graphically impressive, different and dares to stay different. FUN! Downsides: Longevity won’t be that great More for kids than adults I think. Overall, it’s not a serious racer, but the races could get fierce – full of life and wacky! 4 stars!
