Disadvantages: Too Short, Repeditive, Loads loads more

This review about the game Wetrix, it is a classic game, been around for a while now, they have even made a sequel to the game, but don’t ask me, I have no idea what they have added, this game has barley made the ranks of playable, the sequel must be better hopefully. In this review I will talk about the good things (cough) and the bad (cough), so you will know if this game is for you or not.

First off I will start off with what the game is, and the aim of the game. The game is weird, completely original. Sort of like Tetris in a way, you have blocks that you can place, random each time and you place them down, and then you also can get water, loads of it, or just a small sample. Then you can also get bombs, to get rid of things you don’t need. The aim of the game is to stop the water from falling off your grid, when it starts to get over whelming, you can get this option to evaporate the water, so you get more of a chance of surviving, or you could bomb the place, and loose instantly.

That is roughly the aim of the game, and what it is, you start off with a small grid, and then you have to fortify the hell out of it. The levels get harder the further you get into the game, as in more chance to getting water, more chance in getting bombs, which you do not want.

There is a point system, you get by evaporating water, the more you evaporate, and the more points you will get. You need to get a certain amount of points per game, so you can go on to the next level. There is challenging, Expert, and beginner, best to start off with beginner so you can get use to the controls, and what the game does like most games.

There is nothing special about this game, a load of rubbish really, but it a make the rank of 2 star, as it brings some entertainment, then loads to some, and none for others. It is not a game that everybody loves, even though it has a 2 player, which is whom gets the most points before any of them loose, then who wins, and also has the most points will be the winner, nothing special really. Multi-player is the best form of this game, as you can have a few laughs with your brother or sister, or one of your mates.

The playability of the game is ok, it is easy to play, and you can play it a lot when you first get the game, or first played it. It is easy to learn the controls so you can find out what to do, and jump straight back into the game at the beginning. The game is not really enjoyable, but it kills some time, if that’s what you’re after, then this game is the one you want to get.

The game can be addictive, and then it cant, depending if you like the game or not, is how it could be addictive or not. If this is you sort of game, then you will obviously find it addictive, but if not, don’t even bother playing it, it will just kill time the way you would not want it to.

The game is very original, as it is not a good game to make many sequels, as what can they do, add more different block shapes, come on, that must be crap. There is a sequel to this game on the Playstation 2, which will have better graphics and other things, but I warn you, the sequel was one of the first Playstation 2 games that came out, so it wont be that good.

The graphics are not really that good, well up to the standards of the Dreamcast and Playstation 2, not even the N64, which is a brilliant console. It could be improved with loads or ways, first make it smoother, make it have better effects, this game has none of that, I doubt that the sequel is that good.

There are no voices in this game, as there is nothing to be heard from, it tells you some hints within the game, and that’s it, but it is all in writing form, so don’t expect much from a bog standard game like this.

The sound effects are ok; you get the noises of the placing, the water, and especially the bombs, but still not too brilliant of a game. The icon sounds, the noise of the evaporation of the water, and the points raising noise is a good thing to hear!

The background music is ok if you decide to have it on; it has various music that has been purely made up for the game, which has a good variety, which is randomly played within the game. The menu and within the actual game, other areas of the menu also, so many places with background music which can be to your delight.

The game is not really that difficult, you only really need to stop the water from going off the grid, and keeping it in a secluded place, so it can not get out, you will need to make the walls higher when it tells you that the water is over flowing the areas that you have set out for the water. It does get harder when the longer you are on the level, there is only 3 levels, one is beginner, and the others are challenging and Expert, for when you get to that stage of the game, if you are ready.

The game is around £5 - £20, so it is not really good value for a game that is not really that good. I warn you hardcore gamers to stay away from this game, as it could cause brain damage to gamers like us, which in our intellectual minds, would not like that. I give this game a 2 star, as it scrapes higher then a 1 star, but no where near a 3 star, it is not average.

Good review. I think you did a good job because it is easy to write a review of something you love or hate but writting a decent review of something you don't have strong feelings about eaither way is difficult. Well done. I don't think I will be looking out for this game. :O)

Sounds like a rather rubbish game. Think I'll give it a miss.
