Ocean Spray Cranberry Classic Juice Drink
by MsTricia
I am not actually a big fan of Cranberry juice as I find it really dry and not at all thirst quenching, however I know for things like urine infections cranberry juice is really good. When last month I had what felt like a recurring urine infection, I decided to be healthy and buy a carton of ocean spray cranberry juice so I could ... cleanse my system a bit!
I bought it in a a carton and a 1 litre costs £1.39 from sainsburys where I do my weekly shop. I do think this is quite pricey but as a leading market brand you know you are paying for much better quality and so it is worth the few extra pennies!
In terms of flavours, it is still the similar sharp taste I find from drinking cranberry juice. Personally I prefer eating dried cranberries as they are much sweeter and more enjoyable, and the juice I find really dry and not at all thirst quenching! Ocean Spray classic cranberry juice drink is a lot more drinkable than a cheap version I tried ages ago as it is less bitter and doesn't leave as much of a dry flavour in my mouth afterwards, but really it is not my preferred beverage to drink! It comes out in a thick, dark red colour so it does not feel padded out with loads of additives but feels more natural and closer to actually tasting like the cranberry fruit than other cheap versions of cranberry juices I have had before.
My favourite way to drink this is with a mixer with disaronno as it tastes similar to ribena! I had this at a christmas party years ago and fell in love with it, so at a house party for my best friends engagement a few weeks ago she had some Disaronno and cranberry juice (specially requested by me!) and it really is a great rich drink and gives lots of flavour and prevents me getting too tipsy!
Whilst this cranberry juice is full of good things like counts as one of your 5 a day and has antioxidants, and is rich in vitamin C etc it also is quite high in sugar - 33% in a carton is sugars! It is therefore not too good to drink very frequently and so it is something to bear in mind.
The ingredients are quite simple : Water, Cranberry Juice from Concentrate (22%), Sugar, Cranberry Purée (3%), Vitamin C. So whilst it is from concentrate, it is not full of E numbers and sugars to send you bouncing off the walls lol.
Overall, I would recommend Ocean Spray as it is one of the more drinkable versions of cranberry juice in my opinion. It is of better quality and flavour and did help ease my urine infection so is cheaper than a prescription and counts towards one of your 5 a days! It is just unfortunate it is not a taste I enjoy so much, so prefer just eating dried cranberries really :p Read the complete review |

Brecon Carreg Still Water
by artydoll
I brecently bought a 6 pack of Brecon Carreg still water from my local Tesco
The pack had a clear plastic covering which was easy to remove .
The bottles have a very attractive label ,quite suitable for children to take to school, and out playing.
This 300ml bottle is filled with natural mineral water, sourced in the Brecon ... Beacons National Park.
As I,m Welsh I like to support products manufactured in my native country, and this water has a lovely clean taste ,tastes like the water I used to drink from the local brook, when I was a child in the 50s .
I would recommend this still water ,the bottle has a flip lid ,ideal for children and adults ,it is small enough to put in my handbag[I do have rather a large handbag ,and it fits in one of the front pockets with no trouble],but large enough to quench ones thirst.
The plastic bottle itself is 100% recyclable Read the complete review |

Nestlé Nesquik Banana Milk Shake
by Twizzley94
I absolutely love nesquik banana milkshake powder. I have been having it ever since I was little as a way to get calcium into me. I absolutely hate the flavour of milk naturally. I can't drink it on its own. If cereal doesn't have a chocolatey or sugary coating that will help flavour the milk, it gets left at the bottom of the bowl. ...
Therefore drinking a glass on its own is completely out of the question. Putting a couple of spoonfuls of this in does the trick.
Nesquik isn't the cheapest brand on the market, but I think it is the best. For 300g it is £1.95 full price whereas the supermarkets own brand is around £1.40. I definitely think that it is worth it. The flavour is intense, sweet and very pleasant, so a little goes a long way. I prefer mine to be quite strong so I tend to go for 3-4 heaped spoonfuls in a glass of milk. I have also done different flavour combinations with the chocolate flavour powder, 'choconana' milkshakes are also very nice.
The powder comes in a little oval shaped tub with a pull on and off type lid. The powder itself is a bright yellow colour which also turns the milk yellow when it dissolves. It is very easy to dissolve. However if you put too much in you can be left with some sugary residue at the bottom which doesn't bother me at all. The only bad thing is if you have it open for too long, the grains do stick together when it dries up. It becomes very hard to scoop out of the tub and you end up scraping the top layer to try and get it out. I think it takes around 6 months to dry up, so if you use it quicker you will not have such a problem.
Overall, it is very easy to dissolve, tastes brilliant, gets me drinking more milk, what more could you ask for! Read the complete review |
