Advantages: Natural flavoured drink
I am a regular drinker of 7up. When eating out this is my choice of soft drink, it helps clean your palate. Tesco sell a 1lt bottle for 69p and a six pack of cans for £3.19 which is about average and on par with other branded soft drinks. It comes in dark green bottles and cans so is easily recognisable on the shelf.
7up is a lemon and lime flavoured carbonated drink made by Britvic. It's made with natural flavourings and you can tell that this is the case as it doesn't taste artificial. You can really taste the lemon and lime but just the right amount I don't find it tart or strong flavoured- it's quite mild. I love the way 7up fizzes and sparkles when you pour it into a glass, these bubbles last while you drink it.
It's a clear drink like lemonade rather than coloured with green colourings like most lemon and lime drinks, it's free from colours and preservatives and is also caffeine free- so that's good. It's a great alternative to lemonade, more refreshing too
It's full of sugar although I don't find it too sweet as the citrus cuts through it. The calories are high- 240 per serving but I have to add that 7up is one of the only brands of fizzy soft drinks that has a diet version that actually tastes nice- very similar to the original.
I find it's a good mixer, it makes a particularly nice shandy or alternatively just a dash to make a lager top.
Definitely a favourite of mine and I'd say the best lemon and lime drink on the market.
Would I recommend it- Yes
