Cherrygood Original Cherry Juice
by CarolineMB I read about this juice a couple of years back in a magazine and it was promoting the health benefits of drinking it. At first I assumed I would have to order it online as I thought it was quite a rare juice but in actual fact they sell it in most supermarkets, definitely Tescos, Waitrose and Sainsburys and I think they used to sell it ... in Asda but I'm not sure they do anymore. It costs £1.50 from Tescos so not too expensive. It is a cherry flavoured juice and it tastes really nice. Very strong cherry flavour and sweet but the overall taste is not sickly at all. It's stored on the shelves in the supermarket, so it's long life but has to be put in the fridge once opened and consumed within 5 days. It comes in a regular carton and has an easy to open pourer on top. It also doesn't spill when you pour it which some juices do! On the side of the carton it tells you the health benefits - the juice is jam packed full of disease fighting antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and it also helps to protect the heart. Apparently Montmorency cherries are very good for you and that is what this juice is made with. I drink it fairly often and always like to have a carton in the cupboard. A really nice drink! Cherrygood Original Cherry Juice
by cocopop1509 Ok first off I am going to admit that whilst this is what you would expect to be a healthy juice for someone looking after there body I purchased it with the intention of using it in a rum punch. Naughty I know but the punch called for cherry juice and after admitting defeat after looking in about 5 supermarkets i FINALLY found this in ... Tesco, hidden away on the top shelf with all the other carton juices. One of my favourite flavours is cherry, I am a sucker for spending ridiculous amounts of money on cocktails that claim to have that cherry taste (I apologise if the majority of my opinions regarding this product relate to how it tastes with alcohol but what can i say .... I'm a student hehe) so when I saw the recipe for a rum punch I thought this would satisfy my cravings. As i have said finding this juice is quite difficult, but when you do it is well worth the hunt. It is priced just under £2 which i think is acceptable as a treat but wouldn't be a drink I have daily. In the punch i combined white rum, spiced rum, cherry juice, cocktail cherries with their juice, orange juice and lemonade and it was DELICIOUS, I obviously tasted this on its own and too it was very tasty, quite sweet at first with a tart aftertaste. Definitely a good alternative to other juices such as orange, apple etc. Now the main disadvantage i found to this product was the carton design, whilst it does the job it is too similar in shape and colour to the Tesco Own Skimmed Milk. So whilst it goes nicely with rum, it DOES NOT go well with coffee :-/ a mistake I only made the once. Cherries are often reported as being full of antioxidants so if you are looking for drinks that are good for your body then this is the juice for you, clearly I pollute my body with way too much booze so maybe the cherries will counteract some of the damage (i know it won't but let me pretend) Overall I definitely recommend this for anyone with a sweet tooth or who is looking for a refreshing summer drink. Cherrygood Original Cherry Juice
by Little_Radish On recommendation of a friend I tried Cherrygood. The packaging reads: "A very rich source of antioxidants for an active lifestyle...the super cherry juice drink...a refreshing Montmorency cherry juice drink." I was excited to try as the packaging and words on the carton drew me in and I could feel the ... antioxidants working already! The carton fits nicely into the door shelf of my fridge and is also recyclable which gets my vote. The carton opens via a screw cap on the top which, when you twist, creates a hole in the carton for the juice to be poured from. No mess and works really well. Pouring a glass of this stuff makes me feel like a vampire in hiding, and I almost feel the urge to look over my shoulder just in-case anyone is watching me pour this blood-coloured liquid into a glass. Rather fun actually. The taste really wakes you, more of a sour cherry than a sweet one but is really very nice. It wakes me up so much that I have switched from my usual Berocca to this as it gets me more alert quicker and is a lot less expensive. 1 litre of this product will set you back £1.50 from Sainsbury's which is the only place I've seen it for sale in. As this is the only fruit juice I drink I think it's well worth the money and in my opinion is good value. Read the complete review |
