Frijj Strawberry Milkshake
by star3683
When it comes to milkshakes I am rather fussy as I do not like milk, therefore for me milkshakes have to be of quite a thick consistency and also very tasty to disguise the taste of the milk. One of my favourite brands of milkshake is Frijj which comes in variety of flavours and meet my fussy requirements. My last purchase of Frijj ... milkshake was of a bottle of the strawberry flavour, I will admit it is not normally my first choice as I tend to always pick chocolate but fancied a change.
The Frijj milkshakes comes in 500ml bottles and I purchase a bottle of the strawberry flavour from Tesco recently for £1.25. I do think this is a little on the expensive side but these milkshakes are often on special offer so it is worth looking for these.
The strawberry milkshake comes packaged in a chunky white plastic bottle with a blue screw top lid. The bottle is meant to look like the shape of a traditional glass milk bottle. The bottle has a wraparound plastic label which covers the bottle, the label has a cow hide pattern to it in pink to represent the strawberry flavour and pictures of strawberries on the front. On the back of the label you can find detailed information about the milkshake including ingredients listings, nutritional information, storage instructions and a little about what the milkshake does and does not contain. It also states that the milkshake is suitable for vegetarians and that the bottle is recyclable.
You need to keep the milkshake in the fridge as it is made with fresh milk and to be fair would not taste as good if it was warm anyway. You can drink the milkshake straight from the fridge or pour it into a glass. You just need to make sure you give the bottle a good shake before you open it to make sure none of the ingredients have sunk to the bottom. This shaking also means that it gives the milkshake a nice frothy appearance when you pour it into a glass. The milkshake is quite a bright pink colour and has a fairly thick consistency. It does smell quite strongly of strawberries but you will notice from the ingredients listings that there are no actual strawberries contained within the milkshakes and that the taste comes from flavourings which I think reflects in the taste. Although the taste is quite pleasant and is strong enough for me not to notice the taste of milk it is a little artificial and sweet tasting. This 500ml bottle of the strawberry milkshake actually lasted me 3 servings as I did find it a little sickly to drink, although my husband loves it and can easily polish of a full bottle in a matter of minutes.
Overall I do like this milkshake because of the thick consistency and that you cannot taste the milk but would have preferred it to be a little bit more natural tasting. Not the worst strawberry milkshake I have had but next time I think ill stick to the Chocolate flavour and leave my husband with the strawberry. Read the complete review |

Frijj Chocolate Fudge Brownie Milkshake
by EdgySurveys
Whilst I do generally drink a fair amount of store-bought bottled milkshakes, they're not the greatest milkshakes in general (lmao, yet I drink them anyway... oh consumer capitalism, how you make me laugh) as they tend to me just completely smooth. Which may sound odd to say, as, it's milk - but I personally prefer like a, frothy ... milkshake. I'm not sure if you could bottle froth though haha, or could you?
Froth or no froth, I discovered this milkshake flavour not too long ago and for me, it's saved the genre! I know 'bottled milkshake' isn't, a 'genre' strictly speaking, but come on, that word is close enough and metaphorically speaking, you get what I'm saying! plus it's comical, and stuff.
The flavour of this milkshake makes the yearn for froth and ice-creamyness seem futile, it's just so deliciously sweet and vile! haha. By vile I mean nice of course, come on, you know the rules.
I would definitely recommend this to anybody with a sweet too... tongue? but I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who doesn't like chocolate fudge brownie milkshake flavour. As that's what this is; it's a chocolate fudge brownie milkshake damn it, and it's yummy! Read the complete review |
