Grudziadzkie Dobre Piwo ... Dobre Piwo is a Polish beer from Grudziadz and does not necessarily translate to "Good beer" but rather "Healthy beer", this is at least the angle of promotion it uses. The beer hasn t really caught on abroad yet, although the brewery is owned by Carlsberg, so it may follow suit. It s not particularly well known in Poland either, it would be hard to find it in your average off-license or supermarket but one place where it does occasionally turn up is amongst the beer sections of health food shops, businesses which are taking off as people become slightly obsessed with health. Grudziadzkie Dobre Dziewiatka ... the same brewery as the Kunter range from Poland, comes a slightly specialist beer "Grudziadzkie Dobre Dziewiatka" - Grudziadz s Good 9th which refers to the 9% alcohol in the beer. Despite the strong alcohol content, this beer markets itself far from the tramp market and gears more towards the "connoiseur" - that is, the pisshead with slightly a bit more money! This beer goes out of it s way to dress itself up in a traditional looking bottle oozing antiquity when it is in fact, a relatively new beer on the market. Kunter Export ... after my last review of the reasonable but toilet worthy Kunter Mocny, you d be forgiven from staying away from the brand but their Export version.. which I suppose is made for export but in reality is probably not even exported but contains the essential ingredients to make it last longer in transit. Kunter Export is a decent brand, it has the design features of a Lithuanian beer and whilst the taste doesn t quite touch one of my favourite Svyturys beers, the style definitely attracted me (that and the fact I decided to review every beer the brewery made!)
