Abbeydale Moonshine ... addition of Washington Willamette hops and a lot of tender loving care proved to be all that was necessary to produce a popular prize-winner for which demand is still steadily increasing. Abbeydale Brewery was founded in 1996 by Patrick Morton and his father Hugh. The company's vision aims to produce high quality beers by sourcing the best ingredients and paying close attention to the brewing process. Principally pale malts are used in Abbeydale recipes with hops from the UK, and also from as far afield as Peru, the Western coast of America and New Zealand. The name - Moonshine - breaks Abbeydale's ecclesiastical tradition when naming their ales. (Other ales carry names such as Redemption, Absolution and Matins.) We have just finished clearing up after Chesterfield Beer Festival and we have had a great time with some great beers. One of these I have tried on MANY occasions and it is a classic! This beer is Abbeydale Moonshine. ~~~THE BREWERY. You will find Abbeydale Brewery on Aizelwood Road, just off Abbeydale Road, just outside of Sheffield city centre. The brewery got its name from Beauchief Abbey ~ a monastery built in medieval times by the people who killed Thomas A’ Becket.
