Have you ever had one of those nights where everyone around you seems to be absolutely hammered and no matter how many pints or alchopops you knock back you still cant reach that stage. I mean the stage where you either cry into the arms of a stranger, cry in a locked toilet, kiss a stranger or pee in some nettles. Yes we have all been there. Well next time there is a solution…

…Aftershock, a wonderful American invention. There are two varieties the blue (cool) and the red (hot). Both are based on a cinnamon taste, but blue has a more menthol edge where as red is spicy.

The only real spirit I drink is vodka, but I do try to avoid it as a shot as I find it’s a little harsh and doesn’t really taste nice! Don’t get me wrong it’s great with orange or coke, but not straight. Aftershock is different. It tastes nice and although it does warm your belly it doesn’t set it on fire.

Now back to my original point, it gets you very, very drunk. I like to drink an aftershock then a pint on a night out, I find this method seems to get me to an agreeable level of intoxication, however sometimes you don’t realise how much you have drunk and end up crying and puking on a stranger or in the toilet.

It’s a great drink if you aim for the night is to get plastered, I do not suggest drinking it at a dinner party. A good shot so long as you can keep track of how many you have had and how many more you can take!
