Alba is a Scottish Pine ale. Unfortunately it is a seasonal drink, expensive and hard to find, but when you can find it it is worth buying. I prefer dark drinks most of the time. This is a light and refreshing drink with a sweet, unique taste. Made from pine needles it really tastes like pine! It's hard to describe what I mean by this, but whilst it does not smell pine-like, it does have overtones in the taste. It is 5% alcohol, so fairly strong compared to standard ales, but it is something that you would only drink in small amounts anyway. Alba leaves a mild aftertaste in the mouth.
