How sweet it is to be beer like you (Amber Browar Grand Imperial Porter)

Advantages: Might please some porter fans

Disadvantages: Way too sweet for my personal taste

Grand Imperial Porter is a dark Polish porter beer from the Amber Browaria, I normally get along quite nicely with beers from this particularly brewery, their Kozlak beer being one of my favourites.

Grand Imperial Porter had a particularly curly font and golden design which attempted to make it look classy, likewise the description was the usual over-indulgent rubbish. Most notably the percentage of malt at 18.4% was fairly strong and combined with the alcohol content of 8% it gave it a strong sweet kick.

There were no strong alcohol notes but come to think of it, I wish there were because the bitter sweet explosion from the chocolate and caramely flavour was far too much for me to handle. I can say that I really struggled to finish this beer and didn't enjoy it in the slightest, you are going to have to have an enormous tolerance for really sweet things to enoy this one.

Ironically they recommend drinking this porter with a dessert, I recommend drinking it with something to wash your mouth out with!

Summary: More confectionery than brewery!
