A healthy way to quench your thirst (Appletiser)

I have started to drink Appletiser when I go out, or if I am at a sugar low during the day. I find it refreshing and satisfying.

I stopped drinking alcohol when I had my boys (although I am sure they will drive me back to alcohol as they get older) as I found I could not cope with a muggy head and four children demanding my attention. I do have a sip of my husbands beer here and there, which must annoy him, but that is as far as my alcohol consumption goes. I needed to find an alternative, which was not too boring, like the litres of water I consume, and not too full of additives and preservatives, like Coke and Fantas. I found Appletiser.

The Appletiser which I drink comes in a green glass 275ml bottle, which is fatter at the bottom and tapers into a slim neck. It has a screw on metal lid which should, of course, be sealed when you buy it. It can also be bought in a 330ml can and 750ml bottle. It is expensive, but I can justify that with my lack of alcohol consumption. I am a cheap date!

Appletiser is made from 100% apple juice. There are no preservatives, added sugar or colourants. Each 225ml bottle provides 135 calories. It is fizzy, but not overpoweringly so. It is also quite sweet. All the sugar is 'natural', but one drink accounts for 25% of an adults recommended daily sugar intake. Imagine how hyper you could get after one large bottle!

To drink an Appletiser is meant to bring you '100% pure pleasure'. I find it thirst quenching and very enjoyable. The slight fizz gives it a more sophisticated taste, compared to drinking normal pure juice. It does satisfy my sugar lows, and I find it quite filling. I am also happy to give it to my boys as a treat, as they are not allowed normal fizzy drinks. To them it is a cool drink, and I am not letting the side down, being a mean Mum!

I would recommend Appletiser as a healthy alternative to other fizzy drinks. You can also get Peartiser and three different fruit combination Fruitisers. Appletiser is certainly a fresh summery drink, which you can enjoy, knowing that you are also having one of your 'required' five a day fruit and veg!
