Eau de Cat Pee, that is what is in this can! (Asda Diet Blue Charge)

Advantages: Cheaper than leading brands

Disadvantages: Smells abhorrant, not appealing at all.

I drink a lot of sugar free Red Bull, not for its energy giving properties (read my review about it and you'll see why) but for its taste. However, it is rather pricey coming in at just under £1 in most supermarkets so whilst trailing the aisles in Asda one day I thought I'd go for a can of diet Blue Charge "How different can it be" I thought. It must be pretty much the same as Red Bull but for a fraction of the price, can't go wrong! The can is the same size and shape as a Red Bull can and the silvery grey and blue design on the can is not dissimiliar to that of Red Bull. There is also a cranberry version which I have yet to try.

On opening the can I poured it into a glass, the same dark yellow coloured liquid found in a can of Red Bull was to be seen. As I raised it to my lips to take a sip, I experienced a pungent smell which can only be related to.....cat pee. It was very off-putting!! I took a sip and the rest went down the drain. It was vile, and the smell was unbelievable. Even as the can sat on the side in the kitchen waiting to go into the recycling box, the smell of cat urine wafted around the room and when my partner came back in from the gym, he asked what the awful smell was!

I can't rate the energy giving properties of this drink as I didn't drink enough of it to find out but the smell of the product was enough to make me never want to buy it again. Although Red Bull is much dearer, I'll be sticking with that in future!

Summary: If any tom cats come sniffing around, it's the Blue Charge!
