Advantages: Cheap, nice flavours
Disadvantages: Doesn't give me a boost (but I do like it lol)
Firstly I must start this review off by pointing out that this is not an Asda product! I know this because I bought mine in my local Tesco for 23p a can! It can be purchased in a lot of different stores and is simply referred to as 'Emerge' Stimulation Drink!
The Can Itself....
Long, cylinder metallic silver and red in colour and contains 250ml of the drink and has a ring pull to the top of it. In red, white and black writing (all over the can) I'm told on the front that it is Emerge Stimulation Drink. On the back of the can I'm told a little bit about the drink, ingredients are listed and nutritional information is given, size is stated, I'm told the drink is best served chilled, Contact details for Beverage Ltd are given (the manufacturer of this product) and finally a bar-code is on there. Nice enough packaging, doesn't scream cheap and is sort of in keeping looks wise with other energy/stimulation drinks on the market really.
A Bit about The Product According To The Back Of The Can....
Carbonated mixed fruit flavour drink with Taurine and Caffeine. High caffeine content (30mg/100ml).
Emerge is a refreshing carbonated stimulation drink.
Simply chill with ice.
Emerge is not suitable for people sensitive to caffeine.
The Drink Itself....
Darkish yellow in colour and fizzy, particularly when first opened and if you put it in a glass you can see the small bubbles for a short time as this is really pretty much a drink straight away really cos it goes flat rather quickly. Smell wise it smells like other energy/stimulation drinks on the market really (if your familiar with them). It has a slightly fruity, sweet aroma to it. Taste wise it is as sweet as it smells and to me tastes quite a bit like a combination of strawberry and grape. It has a bubble gum kind of taste (the only accurate description I can give to it lol), but it is rather pleasant and tangy. However the after-taste lingers for ages which is a little tinny and salty on the palette and I find it makes me really thirsty so I drink loads of water and stuff after lol.
Does It Stimulate Me Though?
Not really. I don't believe Energy/Stimulation drinks do much for me or the general public at all though I am rather addicted to them to be perfectly honest with you. I don't find these wake me or my brain up and they certainly don't make me want to join the gym either. I simply feel I'm doing something by drinking caffeine but really, I don't think this does anything at all so I'm happy to pay minimal pennies for these types of products lol.
Verdict....
Pleasant enough drink, not as strong flavour wise as say Red Bull but at 23p a can this is a very economical buy indeed. I like the well blended flavour of this and personally I like sweet drinks and this although sweet isn't syrupy or anything like that. It's pleasant and I'll deffo re-buy them!
