Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Too unnaturally sweet!
I love Dandelion & Burdock flavoured soft drinks so when I saw this 2 litre bottle at a mere 54p a bottle or £1.09 for six cans (in Asda) I treated myself to a bottle and couldn't wait to get stuck in!
The Packaging:
Clear plastic 2 litre bottle with a label round it's middle with a seaside scene on it and I'm told it is Asda No Added Sugar Dandelion & Burdock 'Made With Real Dandelion & Burdock Extract' and I told it is suitable for Vegetarians and contains no artificial colours, flavours or aspartame. On the back of the label ingredients and allergy advice is given along with nutritional information and storage details, cautions are given along with contact details for Asda, size is stated, the best before date is displayed and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice enough bottle with a simple twist on/off lid/cap to the top of it and it doesn't look cheap and/or nasty at all.
The Drink Itself:
Dark brown in colour and sparkling as it is a carbonated soft drink of course. It smells very sweet with a slight aniseed smell to it and it isn't too fizzy.
Taste wise this is ok. It is rather too sweet for my palette sadly however and tastes full of artificial sweeteners (which it is lol) which to me makes it undrinkable and leaves me more thirsty than before I drink it.
The flavours of the drink are spot on and my only complaint is the overpowering sweeteners added (some of you may not think it is too sweet of course). What is more once opened this drink tends to go flat within a day or so even if stored correctly and I kept mine in the fridge!
Not for me this one sadly and I feel it's more of a kids drink than a grown up one. I'm so not keen on the after-taste this gives off and I can't shift it, it's like I've been licking tins!!
Allergy Advice:
Contains gluten and barley.
