Asda Smart Price Lemonade

Description: Manufacturer: Asda / Type: Lemonade

Newest Review: ... mistake. I'm not too keen on tequila as it is, and have been using lemonade as a way of kind of masking the smell and taste. ... more

... However, as this lemonade has no discernible taste or smell, I failed in quite a big way. The drink is quite fizzy, I will give it that, but when you open it you can't smell lemons at all. I see this as being a fairly essential pre-requisite for the drink. Also when you taste it, it doesn't tast of lemons, or partiularly sweet. In fact, it largely resembles carbonated water, but without that bitter taste you get. There's not much of anything to this drink - trace of calories, no fat, no salt etc... so probably not a...more

Premium Review Asda Smart Price Lemonade: Nasty sticky water........ (524 words)

As part of my "shopping on a budget" initiative I decided to try and switch from brands or supermarket own brands to Value branded products. First up was lemonade. My reasoning was I usually drink lemonade with vodka with friends, so we do go through a fair amount of lemonade on a weekend. Drunk in reasonable quantities the vodka takes away the taste of the lemonade so I thought why not.... Smartprice lemonade cant be that bad can it?? In short ... Yes!! ****Price & Availability***** As this is a Smartprice branded product the lemonade is only available from Asda stores. For a 2 litre bottle its 18p... so extremely cheap but ...  Read the complete review

Recently I have been keeping more of an eye on my money and havent been buying as much junk food as usual as a way to cut my spending. I decided to try this lemonade as it was only 18p for 2 litres and I thought that there was nothing to lose, if I dont like it then it only cost 18p, and if I do, well thats a cheap way to enjoy lemonade. Unfortunatly, I didnt like this lemonade at all, it kind of tastes like really watery lemons and isnt really that fizzy either, its just not that great of quality and doesnt really taste like anything, I suppose you get what you pay for really, and that isnt a lot. Some people however may like the taste ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smart Price Lemonade: Flat lemonade anyone? Good for cleaning your drains maybe! (318 words)

I generally like R Whites Lemonade (I'm a secret lemonade drinker!) but decided to give this a try when I saw it for under 30p in our local Asda recently. The bottle is very cheap with clear plastic and a white label with the smartprice logo, nutrional information & ingredients displayed. Upon opening the bottle is was fairly fizzy which I saw as a good sign but I found that within just a few hours of opening that the lemonade had gone completely flat. The bottle is very easily dented and broken leading to leakage on the way home from the supermarket if you are traipsing home on the bus (as I was) and have bags of shopping which bang ...  Read the complete review

Contrary to most people I have never been into alcoholic drinks. Mostly because I cannot handle alcohol. On the rare occassions I decide a glass of wine with dinner would be a nice change approx 15 mins after finishing it I feel quite drowsy and want to sleep. So recently I have experimenting with lots of different soft drinks - coke gets very boring after a while and tends to run through me. But enough of that. So I've become partial to a bit of lime and lemonade and have been going through a 2L bottle of lemonade in a couple of days. While I was browsing the soft drinks aisle I came across the Asda smartprice lemonade. Smartprice is Asda'a ...  Read the complete review

I'm not really a drinker of fizzy pop but when a friend of mine came to stay recently I had to do a hasty 'junk food' shop so to speak. It's ridiculous how much some of the more popular brands charge for a bottle of lemonade so I turned of course to Asda's very own Smartprice brand. I'm usually quite impressed with their own products but this was one of those times I found myself wrinkling my nose with disgust. On the surface yes a 2 litre bottle of lemonade for about 25p or so is pretty good in today's climate but of course that doesn't account for the horrendous taste. The bottle itself is a bit bland and nothing eye catching. Following ...  Read the complete review
