Advantages: Cheap.

Disadvantages: Strange chemical after taste, poorly made bottle.

I decided to try Asda Smart Price lemonade in an effort to go a little cheaper on the items I'd count as a "treat". I've never tried the Smart Price lemonade before, but as in the past I've usually been quite satisfied with the brand, I thought I'd try the 'ade.

Firstly, I was not impressed with the packaging at all. The design of the label didn't bother me (with it being as cheap as it is, I wouldn't have expected miracles) but it was the actual plastic of the bottle that let it down. I picked a bottle from the shelf and the plastic felt so flimsy that I actually thought that it was going to break in my hand! Even though it was full of lemonade, I was easily able to squeeze it and dent the plastic. I certainly felt like I had to be very careful as I put it in my trolley.

As for the drink itself. I wasn't thrilled with it. To me it just tasted like fake cheapy lemon squash. There seemed to be no natually lemony flavour to it at all! It wasn't too bad when it first enters the mouth, let leaves this rather off-putting chemical taste that tasted very unnatural.

I'm pretty sure I would never buy this particular lemonade again. Not even as a mixer. The poor taste was so poor it didn't even make the low cost seem worth it!

Summary: Not worth the savings.
