Advantages: Cheap price, recycable packaging.
Disadvantages: Not as nice as R Whites, chemical after-taste, not very lemony.
I generally like R Whites Lemonade (I'm a secret lemonade drinker!) but decided to give this a try when I saw it for under 30p in our local Asda recently.
The bottle is very cheap with clear plastic and a white label with the smartprice logo, nutrional information & ingredients displayed.
Upon opening the bottle is was fairly fizzy which I saw as a good sign but I found that within just a few hours of opening that the lemonade had gone completely flat.
The bottle is very easily dented and broken leading to leakage on the way home from the supermarket if you are traipsing home on the bus (as I was) and have bags of shopping which bang together!
The lemonade itself has quite a bland taste, slightly lemony (is that a word?!) but it had quite a harsh chemical after-taste.
For a smartprice product it was a little disappointing as I find that generally they are pretty good value for money, however, I would not even want to use this product as a mixer with vodka.
The lemonade did not retain it's fizz after the initial opening and neither myself or my partner would be keen to buy this product again.
The bottle can be recycled through your local service and I guess the lemonade would be ok if you were just looking for something cheap for the children to drink or for a childrens birthday party but for drinking alone or as a mixer I definitely would not recommend this product, hence the reason for the 1 star rating.
The price is very reasonable but as I didn't even finish the bottle (or half of it for that matter!) it was a waste of money and I will be going back to my usual R Whites in the future.
Summary: I wouldn't recommend this product, even for under 30p!

- 15/02/09 It's probably quite acidic, so could indeed be good as a toilet cleaner. Cheap enough to be worth a try, anyway....
Tha nks for a fun review! |

- 13/02/09 I'd only use it with vodka as you can't really taste it as much but I agree. Vile. Tescos own lemonade is much better. |

- 12/02/09 my daughter only likes 'lemonade with no bubbles' so this would be great ha ha |
