Advantages: Cheap and not the worst thing I've ever tasted lol

Disadvantages: Cheap and overly sweetened

Whilst out on a recent shopping trip to Asda I saw these really cheap 'Smart Price' squashes in Asda. I bought one in every flavour available because I get through a lot of squash in a day cos I like to drinking it when working out etc but it costs a fortune! So this seemed a good option to try cos in the long run it could cost save me a fortune!

The Packaging:

750ml squarish bottle with ridge indentations to it and a screw on/off white plastic cap to the top of it. Around the middle of the bottle there is a white and green label around it on the front I'm told it is Asda Smart Price No Added Sugar 'Orange' Double Strength Squash and that it contains no artificial colours or flavours and that it contains only naturally occurring sugars and as I've told you already, the size is stated. Other information on the bottle gives me a list of ingredients and allergy advice, directions on how to make the drink up (one part squash to nine parts water and less for toddlers), storage information is given and so are contact details for Asda. It's a cheap but informative bottle and practical enough.

The Drink Itself:

Well the first time I made this drink up I made it up with the directions given and it was reall! horrible. Like slightly flavoured orange juice (and I mean slightly tasting of oaranges here) and the water looked cloudy more than a rich orange colour and it tasted just sweet and I almost tipped it down the drain. Like most of the squashes in this range though the directions for making the drink up (in my opinion) are wrong. They call it double strength? I'm not one bit convinced and I find to make a more flavoursome drink up I need more like 4 parts water to four parts squash.

This is best served chilled and with ice (again in my opinion) and as I said with more squash than recommended. When I do that I end up with an orange coloured still drink and it's acceptable though not the best orange flavoured squash I have ever tasted! It is slightly orangy but the problem with this is how sweet it is and not as I thought it would be, naturally. It tastes far too sweet and faked with sweeteners and therefore I don't think it quenches thirst at all due to it leaving a rather odd after-taste after drinking it.

Verdict:

Economy drink this is and really nothing at all special and although I consider it to be economy it isn't so economy as I first thought it would be due to needing to use so much of it per drink! I don't recommend this but course if you want to try it feel free, after-all it's only 22p a bottle!

Allergy Advice:

Contains Sulphur Dioxide.
