Advantages: My boyfriend loves it, and it's cheap so it saves me a bucket

Disadvantages: I still think it tastes like farts

I've always regarded paying for water when I can get it from the tap as something slightly pointless, but since dating my current boyfriend, I've taking to buying it in . He has a real addiction to carbonated drinks, and he's also trying to lose weight, and while diet drinks might help with the weight loss, water is the healthiest drink overall. So to satisfy his desire for both fizziness and healthiness, I started buying in bottled water for his visits.

Sparkling water can be incredibly expensive, with premier brands such as Perrier or San Pellegrino costing a pound a bottle . I love my boyfriend, but not enough to spend that much, so the Asda smartprice stuff at 17p for 2 litres it is. Occasinally, you'll even find it on offer at 10p a bottle .

The packaging for the price is pretty bog standard - a clear plastic bottle with a green and white paper label . But really, thats all you need, and the bottle also comes with the advice that the bottle is highly pressurised and should be opened with care. There is no ingredient or nutritional information, but then again, is that really needed with water .

It looks, surprisingly enough, just like water. It tastes just like water too, apart from a slightly farty flavour. I really find it hard to describe, but the bubbles just don't taste that good to me! I have the same complaint with all sparkling waters though - I find them all a little farty in the taste. However, my boyfriend happily guzzled it down with no complaint, and I don't have to drink it ! It is very fizzy - I find I always end up with a little spilling out when I open a fresh bottle, but it does at least retain it's fizz for a couple of days when stored in the fridge.

I read a review of this recently where someone complained that there was no panel on the bottle giving information about mineral nutrition or trace elements to be found in this drink . I would just like to point out that this isn't some fancy filtered volcanic spring doo-dah . It is not a sparkling MINERAL water, it's just sparkling water. The same stuff you can get out of your tap, just with a bit more fizz and hopefully a touch less limescale!

Personally, it's not a favourite with me, but my boyfriend loves it. Really for the price I shouldn't complain, but I'm still going to - it tastes farty, and it makes me belch!
