“ Brand: Asda / Type: Soft Drink „
I really do guzzle a lot of pop! Because of this I have stopped buying branded pop for myself unless its on offer and I look for cheaper alternatives.
I do alot of my main shopping in Asda or Tesco and the other night along with a few essentials (wine mainly lol) I decided to get a couple of bottles of pop (I always am so very thirsty as well as hungover after drinking lol).
This comes in a 2L dark green but still see through plastic bottle and it has a dark green plastic screw on/off lid to the top of it. Around the bottle there is a label and on that label we are told that it is Asda 'Chosen by You' Zero Added Sugar Sparkling Tropical Crush 'Made with real pineapple amd grapefruit' and there is a picture depicted of a pineapple on there. Other information listed on the bottle includes ingredients and a nutritional chart being shown, storage advice and contact details for Asda are given as well. Nice enough bottle and it is informative enough.
The Drink Itself:
Its a murky off yellow colour and fizzy, but not too much so with the aroma of pineapple to it in the main. Taste wise well to me this is really artificially sweetened which leaves an odd tinny after taste way after I've consumed it and once the bottle is opened or the drink has been poured the fizziness goes and it goes rather flat.
Because of this artificial sweet taste it has the initial taste of pineapple goes quite quickly and this to me really isnt a very refreshing, thirst quenching drink at all. I know that this is meant to contain real grapefruit juice to but I can't detect that at all.
I don't like this lifeless drink one bit I'm afraid. It doesn't quench my thirst and all I can taste is something like saccharin which I don't appreciate one bit. Thumbs down....I don't like it!

I sometimes like to try out new flavour drinks and I like certain flavours in particular. I spotted this Asda Sparkling Tropical crush 'made with real pineapples and grapefruit'. It comes in a 2 litre bottle and is in Asda's 'chosen by you range'. Asda's chosen by you range is really good actually. I like the fact that they have taken the trouble to listen to what their customers like and want. Asda's chosen by you programme is very detailed. 40,000 consumers took part in 200,000 blind taste tests in the UK and 3500 products were individually tested by Cambridge market research . The chosen by You range is bigger than what I realised and is 'made up of more then 3500 own brand products' (Asda.com/press centre)
The bottle is green in colour and has pictures of Pineapple and grapefruit on the bottle, with a green leaf in the middle of the bottle.
This is a great tasting drink; You can taste the flavours of the mixture of pineapple and grapefruit. I actually prefer this drink to some other well known similar fizzy drinks. I recommend drinking it very chilled with or without ice.

Asda have taken the trouble to put some good advice on the bottle which I havn't always noticed on some other similar bottles of fizzy drink. They warn about being careful when opening as the bottle is pressurised and also to be sure to point the bottle away from your face when opening.
This drink is an amazingly low £0.57 pence per bottle! When I think about the costs of very small bottles of other well known drinks in shops; it makes me really begrudge buying them. It is very rare that I do. I have said it many times............why pay more?
