... money It may be a while since I last drank a glass of Babycham but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy it, for a while it almost seemed that the drink had vanished off of the face of the earth but I have noticed that the small glass bottles are back on the shelves again. I know that I have seen litre bottles of Babycham in the supermarkets too. Tesco and Sainsbury's stock Babycham and in Tesco you can expect to pay around £3.20p for four x 200ml bottles. The glass bottles appear to have the same labelling that they ...more

Premium Review Babycham: Baby this ain't no Sham. (706 words)

When we used to drive past Shepton Mallet there was a famous landmark that we always looked out for, on top of the Showering's factory stood a life-size statue of a fawn ( like Bambi), this little `Bambi` deer was the trademark of Babycham, the champagne perry drink that used to be so popular. A glass of Babycham was the first alcoholic drink that ever passed my lips and at that time it was considered chic, sexy and daring to drink the perry. Babycham was served in a special glass, the glass had a long stem, a cocktail style top and the Babycham deer was pictured on the glass. The chilled Babycham was poured into the glass and a cherry on a cocktail stick ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The happiest drink in the world (755 words)

Whilst browsing my local Somerfield's the other day I came across 'Babycham' and was rather attracted to the 'fawn' on the front. Babycham cleverly uses the cute fawn to attract women...well it is classed as a 'woman's drink'. The four 200ml bottles were excellently priced at £1.49 so I decided to add them to my basket. In recent years I have taken a fancy to wine and it is now my drink of choice when I go out. I purchased Babycham thinking it was a cheap version of wine and I wasn't far wrong although in comparison it is more of a cider. The product was marketed as a pear champagne and was very popular amongst women, becoming one of the most popular drinks ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Babycham: Lack of supply (104 words)
by - written on 16/11/02 (Somewhat useful, 255 readings)

My wife and I enjoy going out for meals and for many years my wife was able to enjoy a glas or two of Babycham. We live in Winchester, in the county of Hampshire, eat and drink locally. We are unable to enjoy those eveings out so much now because none of the restuarants or public houses sell Babycham any more. Why is this? My wife suffers with migraine and this is the only drink that she can safety have without having problems. I understand that there are no demand for Babychams any longer, certainly not in this area. Your positive comments please. ...  Read the complete review
