As part of my christmas I got given a bottle of Baileys Irish cream With a Hint of Mint Chocolate. It was lovely!

Baileys is a drink manufactured by a company called Diageo who also manufacture other drinks like Bells Scotch Whisky, Johnnie walker whisky, Gins and Tia Maria.

I've always been a fan of Baileys original on ice and often will finish off with a baileys on ice after having a few beers in the house one evening. It has a pleasant sweet taste to it and I think it must be quite easy on the stomach because of it's creamy texture.

Baileys although is a type of whiskey, does have less alcohol content (about 17% vol) whereas whisky is about 40% so it's the sort of drink you could drink regularly without going over your RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance).

In saying that though never drink and drive! It is normally safer to drink nothing when driving because the amount of alcohol to make you over the limit varies from person to person depending on different factors like age, build, metabolism and food you've eaten that day; something that you can't really measure accurately. If I have a drink when out and I'm going to be driving, then usually one shandy or lager tops is as much as I'd drink myself and probably a baileys would be too risky in that case. Lager is around 4-5% vol alcohol.

Anyway back to the mint chocolate variety; I liked it alot. I'd often have a glass of it in ice at the end of a busy week while sitting down to watch TV and I only just finished the bottle last month so I'm hoping that I'll get another one soon as a present from the duty free (placed hint to some relatives on holiday right now).
