Advantages: Great taste, very smooth, great with ice all year round.
Disadvantages: A little expensive.
Baileys Irish Cream is one of my favourite drinks! It's definitely always my choice on a festive night out but I do enjoy a little slosh of it all year round if I can afford it.
The main ingredients in Baileys are Irish Cream & Irish Whiskey and I like neither of these things along but when combined they are just delicious.
The taste is so smooth and creamy that you could just drink glass after glass and at 17% alcohol it'll have you sloshed before you know it! I would definitely recommend drinking this in moderation as too much can feel very heavy on your stomach and give you quite a queasy feeling (I'm talking about after half a bottle!).
Once opened it apparently has a two year shelf life but I've never known a bottle in my possession to last more than two weeks!
At around 150 calories per serving I would definitely enjoy this in moderation which is probably the main reason that I don't buy it more often (that and the price). 700ml is available for £12.44 from Tesco & Asda and Asda also have 1 litre available for £15.00 which gives you a saving of around 27p per 100ml.
Baileys is delicious served over ice, with ice cream or in a hot chocolate. The best thing with Baileys I have ever tasted is a cocktail at TGI Fridays which had Baileys, Ice Cream & Cointreau I believe and was just heavenly! I would also recommend Baileys Ice Cream (I believe it's Haagen Dazs) it's just delicious and goes down a right treat!
I am rating Baileys 4/5 as it could really be a little bit cheaper, they've cornered the market with this product as the "fake" versions just aren't anywhere near as mine. I would definitely recommend this product but try to enjoy it in moderation for the sake of your liver and your waistline!
Summary: I would definitely recommend the original Irish liquer.
