Barrs Irn Bru - Scotland in a drink (Barr Irn Bru)
Member Name: tangoman84
Advantages: Bright orange colour, sweet flavour, refreshing, excellent price, a great mixer with vodka Disadvantages: High in sugar
I recently got married to an English girl and when her family were up for the wedding I decided to introduce them to Irn Bru as it is probably the most Scottish that any drink could be and it made me realise just how much I love this drink myself. The drink is hugely popular in Scotland and can't be missed on the shelves of any store thanks to its bright orange colour. The drink is a taste that is hard to describe as anything other than sweet (you really do have to taste it to understand its flavour). The drink has a huge amount of sugar in so is not a drink to have all of the time if you want to have teeth left to chew your battered Mars bar and is commonly drank as a mixer by people with vodka (a drink I myself absolutely love) and I have even managed to get my new wife drinking this. The price is excellent in comparison to many other major drinks so it is one that you won't feel tempted to try to save on by going for a cheap imitation (these are huge let downs). Summary: Barrs Irn Bru has to be tried to believed and will make you appreciate what being Scottish is about |
