Advantages: Tasty juice available in range of bottle sizes, diet version and even chews.

Disadvantages: Not always easily located outside Scotland.

It's fizzy, it's ginger, it's phenomonal!! Irn Bru is the (other) national drink of Scotland and rightly so. Its distinctive sweet, spicy - extremely hard to describe - taste is loved by many a Scots child and adult. I've loved Irn Bru since I was a bairn when we used to freeze it in ice lolly makers in the summer and put ice cream in it to make ice cream floats. Even as an adult, you can't beat using Irn Bru as a mixer with your vodka and, as many Scots will testify, it's a great hang over cure! At one time, I'm not sure if this is still correct, Scotland was the only country in the western world where Coca Cola was not the number one drink - it was our very own Irn Bru. Its recipe is still a secret to the head of the Barr family. If you can get your hands on a bottle of Bru - which can be difficult outside of its homeland - you won't be disappointed.
