Advantages: Everything about it!
Disadvantages: None!
IRN-BRU is an iconic drink made in Scotland. More specifically, in Glasgow by Barr. The drink is one of the most striking soft drinks you will ever come across; the colour, the taste, the legendary advertising and last but not least it is made from a secret recipe known only to a special few.
The wonders of this drink start with its colour. It is bright orange, what a way to kick start the health benefits but let's face it, this carries more artificial colours than somebody with a bit too much fake tan on! This is soon forgotten about when that sharp, zingy, mind boggling taste hits your tastebuds. It's hard to explain, it is the best tasting soft drink on the planet. Served ice cool it is impossible to beat, no coke can come close, pepsi are just kidding themselves on. What's left?!
The adverts - at some point in your life, assuming your Scottish, you will have seen an IRN-BRU advert on tv. Maybe a flying snowman with the drink or maybe a Phenomenal advert. I'm sure these are well engrained in your memory! They are brilliant. Some of these adverts are sheer Scottish, comic genius. Great marketing.
IRN-BRU has a secret recipe, guarded round the clock 24-7 by steel. It lives a solitary existence, only ever making an appearance when its future is in doubt. Let's hope it never gets lost!
There are many rip offs that seem to call themselves "Iron Brew" but these are no more than a poor excuse of a drink. None of these are able to provide such a powerful drink from a bright orange liquid!
And before I end this review I would like to advise you never, ever, ever to drink this drink in its diet form. It is awful! Barr managed to create the single best and worst soft drinks with the same brand. Diet IRN-BRU is terrible, real IRN-BRU is, well the king of soft drinks. It's PHENOMENAL.
Summary: A great soft drink!

- 12/08/09 Arrrggghhh - it's so watery! Everyone's got different tastes. Still, a great brand! |

- 12/08/09 Actually I quite like the diet version and I've been raised on the original stuff being Scottish! |
