Irn Bru, the national drink of the Scottish, is by no means limited to my friends north of the border; whether you're English, Irish, or Scottish, you can't help but love this drink. Its hard to place flavour is a little bit lemony, a little bit limey, a hint of orange and iron, plus a little bit creamy, and the list goes on. Available ... Read the complete review

What an amazing drink. Its kind of like drinking sugary water, but with some other ingredients added. Actually, thats all it is, but it tastes so good! I cant imagine it being terribly good for you though, seeing as it has 29% of your GDA of sugar in 250ml. Seeing as you can buy it in 500ml bottles this is especially bad. I usually only drink ... Ah, Irn Bru - the national drink of Scotland (followed closely by Buckfast of course!). Made in the land of the brave from girders apparently, Irn Bru is a very unique drink, from drinks manufacturer, Barr. Originally distributed in the famous glass Barr's bottles, for which you would get a 20p refund when you returned them, Irn Bru ... Read the complete review

Ahh Irn-Bru. The best drink ever made. I don't even know why other companies try to make other drinks, nothing will ever be better, this Scottish drink is supreme. The secret recipe that has kept this infamous drink going has been kept a secret for over 100 years now. Famous for its bright orange colour which it has in common with the ... Irn Bru...so good, they named it rather oddly. Move over Coca-Cola, step aside Fanta, Sprite doesn't even get a look in - Irn Bru is the king of fizzy drinks...or at least to Scottish people! I'm a big fan of the bright orange stuff, although I reckon it's a product that must be similar to Marmite...you either love it, or hate it with a ... Read the complete review

Being a Glasweigan lass myself, I have pretty much grown up with this stuff. You get this stuff everywhere here - not so common place in other parts of the UK though it's popularity has definately risen. As others have said, it does have a difficult to describe taste. The bottle says it is a fruit drink but I don't know what fruit they ... Read the complete review

Irn Bru or Iron Brew as it was originally called is seen by many as part of the Scottish culture. It is made by Barr's a Scottish drinks company who began manufacture back in 1875. On the Irn Bru website it claims that the recipie is such a closely guarded secret that it is held under lock and key in a vault in Switzerland and that it ... Read the complete review

There's something unique about this soft drink, many years ago as i kid lots of people had Irn-Bru and i never tasted it because as a kid i didn't like the colour of it or the looks of it...but then as i got older i tasted it and boy! I know at the back of the can it says "made from special ingredients" or something to that ilk, well ... Read the complete review

Irn Bru [Pronounced Iron Brew] is a carbonated soft drink that was developed in Scotland in an attempt to destroy tooth enamel throughout the world. Throughout the 1980's it was only available in Scotland but has since taken on the world, an often controversial but advertising campaign , seemingly annoying everyone without a sense of ... IRN-BRU is an iconic drink made in Scotland. More specifically, in Glasgow by Barr. The drink is one of the most striking soft drinks you will ever come across; the colour, the taste, the legendary advertising and last but not least it is made from a secret recipe known only to a special few. The wonders of this drink start with its ... Read the complete review

Barr Iron Bru is a classic in the North. It is one of those old brands who most people have heard of and most people have tried it at some point- normally when the corner shop only sells bizarre bottled drinks you have never heard of. Irn Bru was invented in Scotland, and that might somewhat explain why it's so strange (sorry, couldn't resist). All jokes aside, it's a unique drink for sure, with an odd, but strangely gratifying taste, although it's one of those "cult" drinks that's not particularly to everyone's tastes. Still, it is apparently one of the biggest ... Read the complete review

One of my earliest memories is being very interested in the bright orange stuff on my Great Grans sideboard. She livid in a beautiful old house, had tonnes of antiques and some wartime toys hidden in the higgledy piggeldy rooms and I want the fizzy orange stuff on the side. My Great Gran was Scottish, but forget whisky, Irn Bru ... Read the complete review

Now, this stuff is something else. One day, I'll love it, the next it'll be the last thing I want to go near. The curious thing is, I have no understanding as to why I'm like this. It's like fluctuating marmite for me! Irn Bru is a bright orange soft drink, made in Scotland, and apparently immensely popular up there. Incredibly sugary ... Read the complete review

Its not really made with girders but does anyone remember the adverts for it? They always stood out and Irn bru is a drink that is recognised nearly everywhere, including abroad where it is sold a lot in Europe. Irn Bru is made in Glasgow, in Soctland and is made with a "secret" recipe for over 100 years. Glasweigans are very ... Read the complete review

It's fizzy, it's ginger, it's phenomonal!! Irn Bru is the (other) national drink of Scotland and rightly so. Its distinctive sweet, spicy - extremely hard to describe - taste is loved by many a Scots child and adult. I've loved Irn Bru since I was a bairn when we used to freeze it in ice lolly makers in the summer and put ice cream in it to ... Read the complete review

Barr's Irn-Bru made in Scotland from girders! Its one of the advertising slogans i remember so well from my childhood. The main ingrediant is unknown and that just makes it even better. How would you describe the taste? Theres nothing like it, it seems to be fizzier than any other drink, its sweet and best served cold. I ... Read the complete review

I recently got married to an English girl and when her family were up for the wedding I decided to introduce them to Irn Bru as it is probably the most Scottish that any drink could be and it made me realise just how much I love this drink myself. Irn Bru is Scotland's most popular drink which surprises me somewhat because although I do like it once in a while sometimes I find it too much and don't manage to finish a bottle. It is very difficult to describe the flavour, which incidentally is the result of a secret recipe known by only two people. However at the price that Irn Bru sells ... Read the complete review

Can someone please tell me why Glaswegians refer to a bottle of Irn Bru as "a boatul u jinjur" To translate a "a bottle of ginger" Actually I think I would be right in saying that "ginger" in Scotland refers to pop or fizzy - a general name for a soft drink.
