For many reasons, I am a firm believer that all the best wines are red. However, on my travels I have come to the conclusion that in todays society, red wine has lost a lot of its appeal. Hopefully, today I can do my little bit to redress that. Firstly, let me ask you a question. What is it that you do not like about red wine? I would hazard a guess that it is its tendency to be dry, bitter on the tongue? The fact that it a lot heavier, and more complex than a white? I am right, am i not? I would like to draw your attention to Beaujolais, this is quite a surprising choice for me as I don't normally like red wine. This is one red wine that can be chilled slightly in summer and this is probably the only reason I like it for when its not chilled it tastes like other reds. The one thing I do love about red wines is the smell, this often draws me into thinking that maybe I should try a glass and then one taste and yuck!! Normally, for me, red wines do not taste as good as they smell. Beaujolais however does. It smells very fruity and inviting.
