With binge drinking an ever emerging problem not just here in the UK, but globally, a few brands of lager have started trying their hand at a lesser strength version of their product. I applaud this, as it shows willing to still provide the quality associated with the brand, at the same time as having a lesser strength drink, to curb the alcohol content and make it easier and more relaxing to just have a beer without worrying about the alcohol content too much or the effects of it. One such brand name is Becks. I was never really a fan of their premium strength lager, but have recently had this on a regular basis. At 4%, it has less of a kick in the taste, but ... I first tried Beck's Vier 4% a few months ago. I'd always been familiar with the Becks Pilsner (5%), and although I enjoyed the occasional pint of it, I always found it too heavy, with a taste that was a little bit too powerful. I always found it to be almost as expensive as Stella Artois, yet less satisfying. Beck's Vier on the other hand has the quality that every beer I think tries to achieve. It is a genuinely refreshing drink. At 4%, it is neither too strong or too weak, and has a flavour that lingers in the senses for a long while after drinking. Well the very very short answer is yes, but that is not much of a review is it? Well I was drawn to it because, as the name suggests (vier is four in German), it only has four ingredients. It is made from water, malted barley, hops and yeast, this caught my eye as they are the same ingredients used in brewing Guinness which, being Irish and a total stereotype, I like quite a lot. Obviously the brewing process is different. Becks is a larger and Guinness is a stout, but beyond all of that Becks Vier is brewed under the Reinheitgebot Purity Law, which is the greatest thing the Germans have ever invented. It is most definitely noticeable that it was brewed ... Read the complete review

Becks is an imported pilsner lager. It is a German larger. It is brewed under the reinheitsgebot purity law.The larger is canned in the UK by insey Uk Limted in luton. The ingreidents is water and malted barley, hops, yeast. You should always brew your becks below 6 degrees for a great refreshing taste. The can holds 440ml and it is 4% of alchol in its contents. Becks is a nice crisp and clear refreshing taste. It is not a strong larger.I bought these in asda for seven pounds for ten cans of this tasty larger. The can comes in a silver can and is not really all that nice if it is served warm.Although I think the bottles are nicer as you dont ... Read the complete review
