Beck's Alcohol-Free Beer

Description: Pale Lager. Brewed in Germany since 1873.

... doesn't have the nasty after taste of many other alcohol free drinks. The reason for this is that it is brewed in the same way as Becks, but then the alcohol is removed leaving no more than 0.05% ABV. I would suggest serving it very cold for the best taste, but always have some in the house now, either for drivers at parties, or for evenings when I fancy a beer, but not the alcohol. It's also good for taking to parties as the packaging is so similar to ordinary Becks that it's unlikely anyone will notice what ...more

Premium Review Beck's Alcohol-Free Beer: Hmmmmmm...... beer..........! (374 words)

I love beer - not surprising really as it is in my veins, I am Australian after all - I love making my own beer, real ale and just about anything beery. However, there is the odd occasion when I have to be designated driver and I want the taste of beer but not the alcohol. I have tried a number of low or alcohol free beers over the years and mostly they taste like the stuff you put into beer before it ferments - hideous, think and revolting. So I was surprised to find these at the supermarket and as I like the taste of Becks anyway, though to give it a go and me being cynical vowed it would taste rank. I was pleasantly surprised. You get the clean ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I'm Not One To Drink and Drive (344 words)

Normally I wouldn't touch alcohol-free beer with a bargepole. I was at a wedding recently though and really fancied a beer but couldn't have one was because I was the designated driver. So instead, I thought I'd give this Beck's Alcohol-Free Beer a try. I didn't have to pay for it (which was a bonus) but I've discovered it's actually quite expensive to buy at around £3.50 per standard sized bottle! I think the high price is because this is a real beer made from actual hops rather than just a flavour substitute. The problem with this however is that it does in fact contain alcohol! Yes really, if you check the label you'll find there is 0.05% alcohol ...  Read the complete review

When I was pregnant, I decided that I didn't want to drink, so, as I enjoy a cold beer, set about trying the various brands of alcohol free larger on the market. I have to say that having tasted several disgusting fizzy, chemical - tasting concoctions, I was giving up hope, but then someone suggested Becks Blue and I've been drinking it ever since. Becks Blue tastes similar to standard Becks and doesn't have the nasty after taste of many other alcohol free drinks. The reason for this is that it is brewed in the same way as Becks, but then the alcohol is removed leaving no more than 0.05% ABV. Premium Review Becks Blue. (221 words)

Beck's Alcohol-Free Beer is now packaged under the name of Beck's Blue. I've read other people reviews of the products on here and have encountered none of the high prices and usually pay the same for 4 bottles as normal Becks beer. I started drinking Alcohol-Free Beer for health reasons, I was drinking far too much but didn't want to give up the cool crispness of lager. I was fortunate in finding Beck's Blue as it contains all the taste of normal becks but without the side effect of alcohol. Beck's claim that the reason the beer tastes like the normal stuff is because they remove the alcohol after the brewing process. Previously companies were ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Beck's Alcohol-Free Beer: Possibly the worlds worst tasting drink! (231 words)

I would never drink and drive but I would equally normally never drink alcohol free beer, I mean what`s the point? One particular night out though where I was designated driver I decided to try one because I was sick to death of drinking Coke. To my horror my ever loving wife returned with a bottle of Becks alcohol free beer which at first glance I thought was actually just a normal Becks. Now my wife knows full well I dislike normal Becks beer so the chances of me liking the alcohol free one was slim. Becks in my opinion is a very poor beer with a horrible after taste and this alcohol free stuff was even worse. It tasted to me like ...  Read the complete review
