Advantages: So many different varieties

Disadvantages: Its current persona

I always used to just drink Carling, which I am not having a go at, but just explaining how I used to be, the beers I drank were limited, maybe due to being a student and wanting value for money, maybe out of a self deluded phalacy that it was the best, or prehaps a view that as it was served everywhere, it was the safe option - who knows.

The reason for this review is not to investigate why I only drunk Carling however, but my current state - which wants to try everything.

Despite my only drinking Carling - this was usually only related to within the UK, I mainly drank foreign beer while abroad, and always liked it. And only ever brought it back to home as it was cheap! However, know I have a desire for all the different and less well known beers - I have done a review before about my favourite, but I can hand on heart say that if there was an option to just drink those all night, or try new ones, I would go to the latter every time.

Beer - or rather lager, as I am not grown up enough to make that leap yet! - is the same as wine, there are so many variations, and they all go with different things, which is why beers from different countries taste so different, and you should experiment with them all. Of course I like to have ones that i know are nice, and I often do, but you never know if there is one nicer that you havent tried!

I am purposely not stating any of the beers in this review as I think part of the excitement is to chose them yourself, and know nothing when you taste them for the first time. If I have managed to convince you to try this apporach to lager, then I would like you to do two things, firstly go to beeres of europe (It should be called beers of the world) which you can find by searching in google, and try some from different countries - countries you have never been to before, and of course buy the ones you have only had in the country you went on holiday to, or have fond memories - just dont buy ones you can go and buy in Tesco - or there is no point!

Secondly, after you have tried some, come back to this review and leav comments, tell me what you thought and if there were any you would recommend, and I shall respond.

It is about time that more people treated lager like what it is - a beautiful, refreshing, varied drink. Rather than a chavs drink of choice to try and get drunk.

Summary: Go to beers of europe's website

You sound like Oz Clarke! lol. I dont do wine snobbery and would say beer is 100% better by taste.

I didnt think there would be much point to be honest, Unless you have heard of them as you have been to that country. The website has sub sections for the countries that they do beer from, and you click on it, and it gives you pictures and names, and you can order as you want. I can give some names if you want - Kirin Ichiban, Saigon, Gurka, Jupiler, there are so many I forget the names.

could have done with actually stating some, where their from and the such imo. i know you chose not to but the review would have been better with it
