 ... praised, I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the overly sweet trappist beers, this is what worried me about this one. Beyond the bottle, what I found was more of a lager than an ale, a darkish amber coloured when poured with quite a lot of carbonation and a delightful looking caramel creamy head. The smell of it was potent and would probably be huffed in places like Slough. This Belgian styled ale produced in Poland was a new tipple that I'd noticed in the shops. A dark coloured bottle was encircled with a purple label which really looked quite classy, abbeyesque lettering which read Frater was on the front as well as an emblem and the word Podwojny (double) in small. As much as Belgian beer is praised, I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the overly sweet trappist beers, this is what worried me about this one.
