... launched on the set of the long running TV soap, which the beer was named after, by the actor Patrick Mower (who plays Rodney Blackstock in Emmerdale) in May 2003. The beer was a little stronger then at 5% ABV. During my recent holiday to the Yorkshire Dales we spent some time visiting the local Real Ale pubs. I must admit that the beer selection wasn't great, but generally the quality was good. Being in Black Sheep and Theakstons Brewery country not surprisingly we overdosed a little on their beers ~ Black Sheep Bitter and Theakstons Old Peculier were on offer at virtually every bar and Guest Beers were few and far between. Where we did find an illusive Guest on the hand pumps it was usually also from the two local breweries (not that I'm really complaining about that). When we found Black Sheep Emmerdale on at one of the pubs in Leyburn I was more than happy to give it a try. ... Read the complete review
