I love wine. Of the rose variety. In my younger years I was very much a New Zealand white fan. However I have reluctantly found that with age, comes hangover. My post alcoholic encounters with marching bands, conversations with god and helicopter beds have increased dramatically with the years, effectively putting paid to my all night encounters with monsieur v blanc. Thus ensued my switch to the loving arms of the brothers gallo, a gentle rose wine that returned me, once again to my pre hangover days. A whole bottle I could manage along with an accompanying meal. Two weeks ago I had endured an extremely hot and sweaty saturday morning with two ... Read the complete review

As a student, or an ex-student anyway, I'm always looking for a cheap way to get drunk. Although cheap wines are usually the most efficient method, I find the harsh vinegary palate of most mass-produced cask wines to be unpleasant, and it's all I do to stop myself grimacing each time I take a sip. However, Black Tower changed all that. Black Tower is a German wine, available in both red and white, although I usually only buy the white. I am a white wine fan.My favourite being Black Tower. Black Tower is a medium sweet German wine. And it is nice and sweet too, aswell as refreshing. The Alcohol content is 9.5% costing £3.71 It is a very smooth mellow wine, quite sweet & fruity & very easy to drink. It is a pale sandy colour. It also has a natural cork which these days seems a rarity as most bottles use a form of plastic for the cork. A glass or two of this with an evening meal is delicious,or simply just sitting for a relaxing evening. The only problem I find,is that it makes me feel tired quicker then any other wine,But I just simply love the taste of it.The bottle holds ... When buying a bottle of wine, because I'm no expert, I tend to choose based on the style of the bottle and the price. I chose Black Tower as the bottle is black, opaque and very stylish looking - it looked of a higher quality than some of the other bottles on the shelf. Also, at just £4.99 the price suited me too. It is a German wine and the alcohol volume is 9.5% - slightly lower than some other wines on the market. The bottle holds 75cl and it is also available in rose or red. On tasting the wine I was pleased to find it did not have that zingy, almost vinegary aftertaste that some cheaper wines do. It was light, refreshing, fruity and extremely ...
