Blossom Hill White Zinfandel With a name like White Zinfandel you would be mistaken for thinking this wine was a white wine….but no it is in fact a lovely rosé wine. It’s a medium rosé with the beautiful summery aromas of red berries…definitely strawberries and raspberries coming through with the first sniff! Underlying that is a faint watermelon smell too….all makes for the perfect summer barbecue wine. Which incidentally is what I had tonight… Sold in a clear 75cl bottle with the Blossom Hill logo on the label the liquid is a salmon pink colour, but is transparent enough that you can read the back of the label. Usually when ... Read the complete review

Despite the days getting cooler, I refuse to accept that summer is over. This is why I am over-indulging in Rose wine - to me it always feels like summer when I have a glass of chilled rose in my hand. Blossom Hill White Zinfandel 2008 is one of my favourites. It is widely available at most supermarkets, however it is not that cheap, at around £5.50 per bottle at the supermarket. The bottle - 750mL glass bottle with a gold screw top lid (I'm so glad they are standard now I was never too good with corkscrews). It has a lovely pink blossom on the front, with a white, pink and gold label - overall it is very girly! The wine - Made in California, at ... Read the complete review

With all this lovely weather we've been having I've forsaken my beloved red vino in favour something a little more refreshing. Never having been a great fan of white wine it was to the rose section I headed in my local Morrison's. Now the only problem with a rose is you can sometimes end up with something that is just far too sweet for my liking, but at £3.79 a bottle I was willing to give Blossom Hills Californian White Zinfandel a go. A white zinfandel is not as the name suggests a white wine it is indeed a rose or as our Californian friends call it a blush wine. White zinfandel is made obviously with zinfandel grapes now some of you wine buffs will realize ... Read the complete review

It's not often that you find a wine that you think everyone may enjoy. Usually it's the case of someone liking or disliking a wine for some reason or another. It is extremely difficult to find one that you feel would be enjoyed by a majority of wine drinkers and possibly non-wine drinkers too. Blossom Hill's White Zinfandel falls into this category and this is rather surprising since this "Zinfandel" variety appears to be unique to California in the U.S.A. Your mind would not have been forgiven for thinking more in the mould of more established wine producing countries like France, Italy etc. The word Zinfandel is the name of the ... When you buy wine as a present for someone and I'm not sure what to get I usually play safe and get a rosé. Sometimes red wines can be too vinegary and white wines too sour. I find that rosé wines rarely disappoint. Blossom Hill wines, created by winemaker Carol Thorup, were introduced into the UK in 1992 and are now sold in over 30 countries. According to the producers Blossom Hill wines are "styled for today's tastes, being soft, fruity and easy to drink"... very easy in my opinion. Blossom Hill White Zinfandel is made by crushing and chilling the unfermented juice before storing it in stainless steel tanks for several hours prior to pressing. ... Read the complete review
