Advantages: Very smooth abd creamy.

Disadvantages: Just that you have to pay for it.

Boddington's, - The Cream of Manchester! Well, that is what the adverts used to say, only now the lovely Boddington's bitter is made in a brewery in Magor, It is ran by Inbev, which is a name derived from Interbrew and AmBev when they merged, this company makes a huge range of beers. They are actually Belgian!

Traditionally, this brew was made in Strangeways brewery, next to the famous prison, in Manchester, using water from an undeground well, directly underneath the brewery. The beer in cans was 3.8% ABV, that is Alcohol By Volume. The draught version was slightly stronger at 4.1 ABV. Boddington's is a very smooth bitter, and very pale in colour, a malty beer, with the famous creamy head. Boddington's cask ale is still brewed in Manchester, but now in Moss Side.

Odd factoids about Boddington's:-
Boddington's sponsor Colwyn Bay Football Club,
They actually invented the "Widget".
It is sold in over thirty countries.
The official nickname is Boddies.
Melanie Sykes used to do the adverts.
Strangeways Brewery is believed to have been founded in 1778.

I believe this is one of those drinks you can enjoy on any occasion, outside or inside. I certainly enjoy it.

Summary: A lovely smooth pint.

A mere shadow of it's former self. Once a great bitter, it is now little better than ordinary. So sad!
