Boddington's is a bitter which has entered the folklore history of the industry due an extremely clever, humourous advertising campaign which has brought it many of the industry's top awards. But what is it like as a drink - does it live up to all the hype? Well...damn good and yes it does are the answers! Boddingtons is a smooth creamy beer with a dark brown colour and a smooth creamy texture. When poured you are greeted with a large milky head which lingers for as ong as you want it to and leaves a lacy effect on the glass when the beer is consumed. There is a strong malty aroma which comes through in the taste as well which leaves a slightly bitter after-effect on the palette. This is a beer which can be drunk anywhere at any time(rather like its drinkers...hehe) and will go well with most food substances as well, complementing their flavours with its own delightful brand. Overall, this as to be one of my favourite tipples although it is probably not to be recommended to your average airheaded Bud drinker - you need a more refined palette for this baby. Actually yes it is recommended to everyone - go refire that palette and enjoy some of the greatest beers on the market like this and Guinness stout.

- 28/03/01 Personally I think Timmy Taylors is rubbish southern excuse for Bitter. Boddies is the same, it's a dull beer and no amount of advertising will change that. I agree with the "airhead bud drinkers" bit. If you want a real good bitter try Thwaites. |

- 01/03/01 Urghhh this stuff isn't beer! Its commercially produced and cleverly marketed ammonia related human waste product!! For a REAL good taste, try a good cask beer like Tim Taylors landlord. |
